Application Process

Formal application, including the non-refundable application fee and all supporting documentation may now be uploaded electronically. However, please note the following:

  • An Applicant wishing to be considered for the project-based Professional MEng program, must first apply to the course-based program. Upon admission the student must secure a faculty member to supervise a project and inform the Professional MEng Coordinator. The proposed program will then be changed to the project-based one.

  • Each applicant must still ensure we receive a valid official English Proficiency score report, directly from the issuing test center.

  • Once an application is submitted, it is not possible to make changes unless you contact The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies or the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering.

  • Each applicant must still ensure we receive official academic transcripts and diplomas from all post secondary institutions attended, ONLY if accepted into our program.

  • Once your electronic application is uploaded and a Western ID is created, your file will be reviewed and assessed by SGPS, and then released to the MME program for further review and final decision.  Note only applications which are complete by the deadline are reviewed and assessed. Each applicant will be contacted once program assessment is complete, therefore we request applicants not to send multiple emails regarding status.

  • Please note all offers of admission are conditional and each new student will not be term activated until all required official documentation is received by the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, prior to the start of the program or upon arrival. Official documentation must be submitted in a sealed envelope by the issuing institution.

The responsibility rests with the applicant to ensure all documentation required is submitted prior to our posted deadlines:
